The Village is owned and operated by Seventh Day Adventist Church, there are camping and caravan sites, chalets and a large lodge for group/school bookings. Sites are large and easy to manoeuvre. No alcohol or smoking allowed anywhere on site.
Disliked:- A bit noisy early in the morning with everyone leaving for the snowfields but nothing too extreme. Apart from this the park is very quiet. Poor mobile and internet reception, even using the free wi-fi.
Parking:- Plenty of room - village is at the end of Tinworth Drive and parking area is inside the property. Plenty of room to park

NSW, Jindabyne, Kosciuszko Mountain Retreat

Date of Stay: July 2020 Rating: 3.5
A lovely bushland setting between Jindabyne and Perisher. Great access to ski fields at Perisher. Van sites dotted about amongst the trees. Firepit at each site. Amenities block appeared to have been upgraded fairly recently (may struggle to cope with numbers if the park is full). Gas hot water was fine in men's but played up a few times in the women's showers. Sites aren't marked out like a normal caravan park, you park anywhere on your site to best suit your van and awning/annexe. No annexe slabs or mats. Some sites could be difficult to get between trees for large vans but generally should be no issues. Park felt like it needs some attention to detail, with a bit of work this could be a fantastic place to stay. Power supply needs upgrading - a heavy snowstorm on Monday knocked power out, we were still being told on Friday to limit power usage (despite the park only being half full). There is no mobile phone/internet reception and no TV reception at the park.
Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints. Reasonable value for money $70 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, dump point, wireless internet is available costs 5gb $10, mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. Good playground, in average condition. No pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families.
Liked:- Good place to stay to get to Perisher for skiing. Lovely bushland setting. Firepits at each site (but can't use your own firewood - must buy at the office $15 per bag). Bushwalks start/finish at the park.
Disliked:- No internet/phone signal and no TV reception. Issues with power supply (heavy snow knocked power out), we had little/no power for 4 nights and were asked to limit power usage despite the park only being half full. No attention to detail - eg: tree branches down weren't tidied up, snow/ice around amenity doorways wasn't cleared and was still there 5 days after storm.
Parking:- Parking spot in the park off the main road.
Added Touches:- Firepit at each site - must buy wood at the office $15 per bag (can't use own wood due to being in a National Park)
Local Information:- 15 min drive to Perisher for skiing or 15 min drive to Jindabyne for supplies. Road good (subject to ice/snow). Being in a National Park means you need to buy a pass for the car $29 per day or $190 annual (see NPWS site for current prices).
Road Conditions:- On main road between Jindabyne and Perisher. Road in good condition but can be affected by snow and ice. Driving out of the park onto the main road is a slight uphill section, no problem getting out but could be tricky towing a van out if icy or snow on the road.
