SA, Adelaide, BIG4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Resort - West Beach

Date of Stay: October 2014 Rating: 4.5
Stayed here again on our way home and experienced school holidays. It was frenetic as kids raced around the park on all sorts of vehicles. There are two jumping pillows, a water park, playground and pool. It is also adjacent to the beach. While it was quite noisy during the day it was quiet at night (except for aircraft noise). I am only adding this report for the benefit of parents as I think it would be possible to have a holiday without leaving the park. For us nomads, avoid school hols! With the number of people here the hot water and shower blocks coped very well but bins tended to overflow before collection.

Another roadhouse but not up to the usual standard. The men's urinal looks like it has never been cleaned. The showers are only a little better. For $30 all you get is a parking spot with power. Showers are $1 extra. This place really should be reported to local health authorities!

After staying here in June we were a little underwhelmed as everything was wet and cold. On return the weather was dryer and substantial work had been done to the powered grass sites with new power and water. We took an en suite site ($35 for 2) and it was very clean and pleasant. Wood is supplied in the camp kitchen to fuel a large burner while you use the facilities. Very pleasant fellow in charge is most helpful. All in all a pleasant stop on the road west.

WA, Perth, Discovery Parks - Woodman Point - Cockburn

Date of Stay: September 2014 Rating: 4
This park is in two sections, one open grass area and the other on paved areas among the trees and cabins. Beside grassed area is a large permanent village of cabins which don't seem to be a problem. Good pool and ablutions. Take note of shower instructions on wall or have a cool shower. Staff were helpful when we had to fly back to Melbourne for funeral but still charged full rate. No water tap obvious to our site and ground staff could not locate it in the week we were there. Pleasant ambience and out of the hurly burly of Freo. There are free buses in Freo so leave your car in a free park south of town and ride free buses every ten minutes. Two adults power per night $34.50 with Big 4.
