Qld, Biloela, Biloela Caravan and Tourist Park

Date of Stay: August 2018 Rating: 2.5
This is a very old style park with large sites and most have cement slabs. The place is very run down and would need a large injection of cash to bring up the standard. But it has a good feel, the people who are running it care about the park and the guests. we were guided to a drive through, slab site and treated with care and politeness. For $30 per night for 2 adults, we are happy. The pool is a token tiny pool, and not up and running yet (not hot enough to swim apparently). The camp kitchens are interesting. There is a very old one that looks deserted and a fairly modern one that looks lovely. There are rigs of all sizes catered for here. A few huge buses are parked out the back. The bathrooms and laundry are old but spotless. The showers are huge with plenty of room for dry clothes etc. Soap in a dispenser and towels at the basins. This park is pretty good for an older park.

A very old tired park . For $25 for 2 adults (with senior discount) it is ok value. Friendly people all around with a camp kitchen that is very basic and no pool. The power and water work well. No Tv reception, but telstra is happy to work here, so computer and phone is good. We were offered a drive through site amongst the rest of the caravans or another drive through site on a gravel pit across the road, but with newer amenities. as we have our own bathroom, this was not an issue. We took the drive through on grass, amongst the locals. This seems to be the best choice in this town.

This is an amazingly good roadhouse, even better than many expensive caravan parks. We have power, water, a pool, internet access on Telstra, the place has lovely gardens and shade trees all around. We seem to be able to pick up most tv channels with just a normal tv antenna. For $35 to stay so far from nowhere in such a nice park, the price is good. The noise from the generator is not great, but that would be my only negative comment. This is one .that I would recommend other roadhouses try to emulate

This roadhouse was good value at $35 for 2 in a powered site with water. All sites are drive though, most vans can stay hooked up. We had grass and shade on each visit. It was a pleasant atmosphere and for a place in the middle of nowhere, they did very well. It felt clean and open, the meals were generous, the groceries were definitely overpriced (transport costs included, still don't give a huge mark up on groceries). The people were friendly and this is a good place to stay on the way in and on return from Uluru.

This is a very old park, being run by a lovely young couple. They have made some very good improvements to the place. There are cement slabs for many van sites, space for the biggest bus/ motorhomes etc is plentiful. The camp kitchen was closed, but the laundry was available all night. The ensuite has been re-tiled and freshened up and with a price of $30 for two adults per night, we were extremely happy. There was traffic noise, with an industrial area close by, but it was bearable. Sites to the back of the park would not have had as much noise. Ours was a drive through site, but the cement slab sites looked easy enough to negotiate into. Phones and computers worked quite well.

This is a park for all tastes. All types of RV are catered for, with many sites available for the free camping people. The powered sites are reasonable but they are far from level. We spent some time moving the van around to get it to the most level part of the site with a very uneven site. The ensuite is reasonable, but there is nowhere to put more than a toothbrush and towel. There are only 2 ensuite sites, with the price being $33 per night, off peak. They have now started a deal with all national parks & wildlife run parks. You get a card with nights stayed in any of their parks stamped. After the 6th night in their chain, the next is free. The water level is down, but there are still boats going onto the dam to fish. The playgrounds are great, with a toddler paddle pool. There is a skate ramp, bike jump track, many tennis courts , a lovely camp kitchen, a small kiosk for fried food and nibblies and plenty of space to run. This is a huge park and it is up to the camper whether they want total seclusion or to be near to others. A stay of a week or more would be quite feasible and families would find plenty to amuse children if all ages.

What a friendly park, with lots of space around every site. We were told to choose the site which appealed the most to us and the choice was quite good. Plenty of trees dotted all around and very friendly managers. We were given tourist advice and recommendations for eating out, which were very helpful. The bathrooms were very ancient and showing signs of age BUT they were absolutely spotless, with potted plants and piped music during daylight hours. Each tap had a pump pack of soap and paper towels etc were freely available. Even though there were only a few caravanners using the bathrooms, they were carefully cleaned at least once a day. All vehicles would be able to find suitable spaces to park here and every site had plenty of room around it to stretch out. To us, this was the pick of the caravan parks in small towns in this area. It was well maintained and felt cared for. We paid $25 per night as senior price, $28 is the price for non seniors.

This park is out of town a bit, but it is a lovely friendly, rural feeling park. We stayed in an ensuite site, which was a bit aged, but sparkling clean. The site we were originally sent to, had such a sloping driveway that we could not unhitch our van. Fortunately there were other sites vacant and we were able to unhitch quite easily on the next site. There is a pool and BBQ area, very small children's playground for toddlers really. The park is very spread out and has plenty of shade all around. There is a Bowling club handy for meals only on 2 or 3 days per week. The main things to do in this area are the National Vehicle Museum (fabulous) and the Chinese Emporium at Tigha (fascinating history of tin mining in the area and early small grocers run by Chinese) . The prospecting for gemstones is very prevalent in this area also. Families may find this park a little bit quiet for a long stay, we stayed for 5 nights and found it a lovely place to stop. The manager is certainly very friendly.

This is not really a caravan park. It is a very old motel/apartment block with 2 ensuite caravan sites that may or may not be available. There seems to be a few resident caravans, but there is no room for any more caravans. The ensuite is very old and in poor condition, but the overall experience is worth the visit. We paid $30 per night because we stayed a week (normally $35 per night). The place is very open and the lovely manager is so caring you can overlook the age of the facilities. We needed a plumber for the ensuite and he was called immediately. There is a pool and BBQ area, but not much else for the kids except lots of space to let them run. Both the caravan sites have lovely large concrete slabs and concrete wheel tracks for the van.
