NSW, Sutton, Eaglehawk Holiday Park

Date of Stay: October 2014 Rating: 3
Nice park. Ensuite cost $43pn for two. Good wifi (Telstra) poor tv. The only problem we had was with buses parked close to our van. They started up at 6.45am to set their air conditioning to warm the bus and left motors idling for up to 20 minutes. When one stopped another started so we had an hour of continuous diesel motors idling before they all left by 8am. The buses were parked at times with the engine and exhaust about 3 metres from our van making the noise very intrusive. This is a very popular overnighter for school children, who were well behaved. The management should look at alternate parking so that ensuite site occupiers are not inconvenienced by bus noise.

Manager's name is Gail Simpson. Very friendly staff, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money ($16 2A PN, powered). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen. Quiet, open & roomy park, no permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Liked:- Very clean and the little extras provided in the amenities.
Local Information:- Close to Bowling Club. Only a small town with limited facilities.
Road Conditions:- Good sealed road from Bogan Gate through to Nyngan with only light traffic encountered.

Average staff friendliness, average staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money ($25 2A PN, powered, peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, very few annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites. Good laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, kiosk. Peaceful, open & roomy park, not enough shade, a few permanents. No bbqs, no playground. Clean pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families.
Liked:- Open layout. In the middle of Albury. We listened to the New Years Eve concert from the adjoining showgrounds and enjoyed the midnight fireworks.
Disliked:- Blase attitude when booking in. We were told there were plenty of sites near the amenities - which there were except the power outlets and water were far apart making it difficult to access both. The park is next to the main railway line so expect noise from trains at night. Toilet paper jammed in dispenser. Cleaning of amenities started at 8am and finished about 9.15am.
Parking:- Plenty of room.
Local Information:- In the middle of Albury and handy to everything.
