SA, Flinders Ranges, Rawnsley Park Station

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 4
Very pleasant park with choices of powered sites near facilities, or a little away but with great views across the creek at to the Bluff or multiple unpowered sites also with lovely views. This park has the best camp kitchen I have ever seen, large, lounges, TV, tables etc and Internet available there. Amenities also were excellent. Staff most helpful with advice of area. Also lovely walks within the park itself being a large station.
Disliked:- The only disappointment was that the Woolshed Restaurant on site was so expensive, absolutely top city restaurant prices, that we did not eat there. I guess they have captive folk in the cabins. It is not so remote as to need to charge this much and many campers felt the same as we did. I think they do themselves a disfavor charging large extras for vegetables on top of a fully priced meal. However, one does not have to eat here of course but it would have been pleasant to do so. Apart from this it is a fantastic place to stay.
Local Information:- Many glorious areas nearby to explore on reasonable to rough gravel roads and Wilpena pound not far away. Fantastic old pub at Parachilna with a unique feral animal menu at reasonable prices.

Vic, Red Cliffs, Red Cliffs Caravan Park

Pleasant open park, great amenities, lovely grass, friendly staff. Good alternative to crowded parks in Mildura if you don't mind the 14km. The road is busy but if you choose sites away from the road it is fine.

Looked fine as far as a roadhouse stay in the desert but the sites were very bare and uninteresting. Ok for overnight and especially if you needed to buy food. Wasn't so thrilled by being able to have TV that it made up for looking at a tin fence. We chose to move on further and stay at a freecamp with the same bare ground but lovely bush surrounds and had a wonderful fire and barbcue.

NT, Pine Creek, Pussy Cat Flats

Depends what you want. We liked this place much better than anything in Pine Creek proper and camped outside the flat open area under trees in the shade. We had a basic but adequate shower and toilet complex although don't go at night without a lamp as solar light not very bright. It was a fun place if you wanted to join the happy hour. Also a good base for the stunning Umbrawarra Gorge. $24.

NT, Keep River National Park, Jarnem And Gurrandalng Campsites

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 4
I agree with all details of last report in 2011. Nothing has changed. I gave it a 4 because although only a long drop toilet and no water the location is stunning, an ancient landscape, and the walk at Gurandalng spectacular and not too challenging. If you like bush camping you will love it. The road in was reasonable..some corrugation but travel to the conditions and it is just fine. A favorite place anywhere.

NT, Victoria River Crossing, Victoria River Roadhouse Caravan Park

A pleasant place to stay. Gets full later in the day but lots of choices and reasonable amount of shade. Amenities adequate but no extras. Surrounds are very scenic and unique. Love this area. Lots to see. Don't miss the Original river crossing or escarpment climb if you are fit.

NT, Mataranka, Territory Manor Motel And Caravan Park

This park is grossly understaffed. The backpackers do their best and the restaurant and surrounds is excellent. However if they let the park itself run down any more no one will come. It used to be grassy, no longer. We stayed on two different occasions as it is close to the amazingly magical Bitter Springs and the other park was very full and less shade. Also like the ensuite style of amenities in two places. However both times there was a septic problem and blocks of toilet and shower closed. Also both times the ensuites had NOT been cleaned and there was no toilet paper. Even after asking it was not attended to. The main block of toilets is ok. The laundry is filthy. I had to clean the washing machine and tubs before I could use them. The barbecue was dirty and the camp kitchen a disgrace. The pool was good. Many regulars not coming back again. It is such a pity that this lovely park is going to rack and ruin. Do hope these new owners either pull their socks up or sell.

NSW, Corindi Beach, Corindi Beach Holiday Park

Date of Stay: May 2014 Rating: 3.5
A most pleasant park, lots of grass and a variety of choices of types of sites from unpowered with a view to sheltered and nearer the amenities. Lovely views from edge of park where you can sit and look over the ocean. Good amenities.

Qld, Forsayth, Cobbold Camping Village

Date of Stay: May 2014 Rating: 4
This is a most pleasant park with amenities ensuite style, apparently from Olympic village. The infinity pool is amazing way out in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant is most attractive but very expensive. The gorge tour boat and walk is most unique.

NSW, Carcoar, Carcoar Dam

Date of Stay: March 2014 Rating: 3.5
Very pleasant, lovely views. Very popular and variety of sites sun and shade. Some have slope but easy to level up one side. Amenities good for a freebie, flushing toilets but cold showers and water is only dam water and not drinkable. Quaint town of Carcoar nearby.
