NSW, Crookwell, Crookwell Caravan Park

Date of Stay: February 2019 Rating: 4.5
Great little park, just at the end of the main street (on the Bathurst side of town). To check in call into the tourist information centre in the main street. $28 for a powered site per night. Power close to all sites water close to some sites. Amenities block has been updated and were spotless and cleaned daily. New camp kitchen with TV and wood fire at one end. Close to the main road so you get road noise during the day but quiet at night. Great spot to explore the surrounding villages from, roads in the area are good, if heading to Bathurst or Oberon the roads are step and windy in places.

Old park under new management. New manager have only been there 5 weeks. A big job ahead of him to tidy up and improve the park. Road noise from highway varies during the day, but this should become minimal once the bypass is open next month. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice. Reasonable value for money ($25 2A PN, powered). Amenities are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate small to medium vans, no sites with annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites. Basic laundry, no rec room, basic camp kitchen, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Claustrophobic park, plenty of shade, a few permanents. Dirty gas bbq, congenial bbq area atmosphere. no playground. Clean pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- The park itself was quiet, no noisy people. Permanents were separate from tourist sites.
Disliked:- The traffic noise at times but this will mainly disappear once the bypass is open. If the ground is wet the park gets a bit muddy.
Parking:- Ample parking to book in. Great spot to explore the Myall river and hinterland. Bowling club does great meals at very reasonable price. Good Cafes in main street.
Road Conditions:- Excellent roads.
