NSW, Tuncurry, Tuncurry Beach Caravan Park

Date of Stay: August 2018 Rating: 4.5
Another great stay at Tuncurry Beach Holiday Park. Love this place - quick ride into town on the treadily, walk to the Bowling club for lunch/dinner. Pity the local coppers can't do something about the hoons revving their cars at the rock pool area at night though. We will be back again.

First time here for 5 nights. Loved the place - we will be back. $42/night off peak to be expected - close to beach, great facilities in the park, huge level sites, very clean showers etc. Take the ferry across the river and share a meal at Queens Wharf Hotel - you won't be disappointed. Park is very busy in holiday times and does fill up on weekends so make sure you book.

Stayed here before. Park is installing over 55 retirement cottages on what used to be the golf course. Probably 50 cottages to go in. They are also installing 2 storey villa type units on some of the former tourist sites near the water edge. Spoke to some of the local permanents and they can see an end to tourist van spots being taken over by villa type units. We have been here before in school holidays and the place was very busy with both overnighter vans and permanent spots being occupied. When we left on Monday 9th July (first day of winter school holidays) we were the sole tourist van there and there would have been only 10 permanent vans occupied. Ingenia are doing the same to their parks at Mudgee, Cessnock, Wallaga Lake.

Been here before a few times. This time they put us on a double uneven slab which made levelling the van a bit of a chore. Next time eyeball the site before committing. Amenities are great, spacious, heaps of hot water, quiet park. Try the Little Beach Boat House for a meal - a bit pricey at $35 for a main but great tucker indeed. Powered site $23.80 with Seniors discount, 2A. We will be back.

NSW, Crescent Head, Crescent Head Caravan Park

Been here before and liked it. Was allocated a premium site on the river area - what a crap site, tree roots on one side made the site very uneven, the site sloped quite steeply from road to river making chocking very important. The park was packed due to a surf carnival (next time check to see what's on in town). Even though the park was very busy, nights were quiet. Powered premium site $42/nigh, 2A. We would come back when no town events on but not to a premium site. Can't comment on amenities as we used our on-board shower due to congestion in the park.

What a find this place was. Huge grassed and double slab sites available. The park is two parts - one near the surf club (which is where we were) and the second part near the river which seemed not to have slabs available. The amenities were great, very clean and spacious. Try the RSL for a huge meal. The Bowling Club had a creepy feel to it when we went for a drink. Powered site $36/night, 2A.

Qld, Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba Beach Caravan Park - Mooloolaba

Date of Stay: May 2018 Rating: 3
Site we were allocated was a double slab site near clothes line area, very tight to get onto, if there were vans opposite we would have not been able to turn tight enough, very noisy due to traffic and hoons on the close by road, amenities very clean, adequate size. Close to beach and bike paths. Powered site $47/night, 2A. We won't use this park again for our 22' van.

Qld, Hervey Bay, Scarness Beachfront Tourist Park - Scarness

Date of Stay: May 2018 Rating: 4
Great site is 30/31 - ocean views uninterrupted and a picnic table right out front for breakfast watching the sunrise. Sites adequate size for a 22' van, amenities at the southern end a little old but very clean, huge showers and great hot water. Unusual they don't allow you to ride your bike inside the park, it was a 250m walk from our site to the front entrance with a bike. Powered site $50/night, 2A. We will be back.

Qld, Bribie Island, Bongaree Caravan Park

First time here, we will return. Sites good size, room to move, amenities are very good and spacious, close to bike tracks, walk to local club for a huge meal (if a small eater, share a meal). Only issue is the Lorikeets flying over the park with bird droppings a problem on the awning fabric. Other than that a great place. Powered site $34/night, 2A.

NSW, Arrawarra, NRMA Darlington Beach Holiday Park

Large sites, all level, plenty to choose from in May, will return again, angled sites make it very easy to park, amenities very clean and spacious. Paid $39.60 with NRMA discount, powered site, 2A. Plenty of kangaroo poo around so watch your step at night.
