Stayed here earlier this year and really liked it as we were in the main area of the park near the beach. This time we had to go to the rear area where there are no slabs and many tents. As soon as the area filled up with tents for the weekend the amenities block was filthy and stayed that way for 2 days. Also very noisy at night being close to the road. Would not stay here again unless we were close to the beach. We arrived prior to 11.00am and were told we could not check in, even though our site was vacant and nothing was being done to it. Also, the staff could have been more friendly about it. Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, poor value for money ($33.00 2A PN, off-peak season). Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to most sites, were dirty, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, some unlevel sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Dump point, secure entry. Noisy, open & roomy park, not enough shade. Clean UC bbq (free), bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Suitable for few days.

Not bad for a night if you can get a spot near the beach. The drive-through sites are all located very near the main road and railway line. This is where we were and thought the freight train at 3.00am was passing through our van. Water was not suitable for drinking but there was a rainwater tank in the park. Sullage hoses drained on to the ground. No dump point. Would not stay here again. Friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($23.00 2A, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. New managers/owners in recent months are really making an effort to keep the park well maintained and making improvements. New BBQs were being installed the day we left. Manager's name is Chris and Tracey Maclean. Very popular park with many visitor movements each day. Very good for boaties and fishermen. Not many big sites for large vans and most sites very close to each other. Only a few sites have slabs. Most are sandy sites and sullage is drained on the ground. Best spots seem to be booked well in advance. No TV or radio reception. No dump point. Council dump point a couple of km down the road. Great happy hours on the beach watching the sunsets. Good time to meet other campers. Very friendly staff, staff offered tourist advice, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, reasonable value for money ($210.00 2A per week, off-peak season). Basic laundry, no rec room, kiosk. Quiet, claustrophobic park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, no permanents. UC bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere. No playground, no pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families.

Very nice park on a great beach. Wallabies come to the park and beach for food and water. Best sites for vans are 4 to 9 where you get a nice sea breeze and very well shaded. Park gets very crowded during school holidays so try and avoid these times, if possible. The owners tried their best to accommodate all comers so every bit of ground was occupied for several days. The main amenity block was quite outdated and needed some improvement with very few toilets and showers but would not deter us from staying again. It became very soiled very quickly with the park being full. A good feed of fish and chips was available on Friday and Saturday nights at a reasonable price. There was an activity board outside the kiosk. There are some good walks around the area. Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Price was as expected, good value for money. Amenity number would not cope in peak times, are close to all sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, average sized sites, concrete annex slabs to most sites, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, secure entry. Peaceful, open & roomy park, plenty of shade, family/friendly atmosphere, a few permanents. Clean UC gas bbq (free), congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. Clean pool is open to sun, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families.
Liked:- Friendly atmosphere. Liked the long walks along the beach and the clear water. Nice to swim outside the stinger season.
Road Conditions:- We tried the Mt Ossa - Seaforth road with our large van but found the unsealed section very corrugated and rough so would not use it again. We were told the Kuttabul road section was too narrow and windy so would only recommend the Yakapari turnoff for an easy drive.
