NSW, Narooma, BIG4 Narooma Easts Holiday Park

I get sick of paying the bigger bucks to stay at some of these coastal van parks and they plonk you behind the water view cabins. And they have amenities that are ancient and in need of a few thousand dollars being spent on doing them up just a little. In all fairness to this park, one end is for tourist vans. We were probably put in an overflow area.

Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Clean pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- The best thing was that it was close to the harbour and beach.
Disliked:- The main centre amenities are fine, but the small one near where we were was very old and run down. It had a tarp covering the roof believe it or not, and appeared as though it had been there for some time. The park is right on the highway.
Local Information:- Plenty of places to fish.
Road Conditions:- Good.

Liked:- Facilities for children of all ages.
Disliked:- Most of the sites are on grass and a slight slope. The grass was very thin and needed watering. We were not that rapt in these sites as they are in the open and would be very hot without the sea breeze. Some of the charges are ridiculous. Like an $8 a day charge for visitors each, over 3 years old. There is no boom gate, so I don't know how they regulate that. They also have a full page of rules and regulations which turns me off for a start.
Local Information:- Beach.
Road Conditions:- Sealed road in with a heap of pot holes.

NSW, Harrington, Discovery Parks - Harrington

Date of Stay: December 2014 Rating: 4
Two sets of amenities. The older one does need updating, but most of the sites are near the newer amenities and kitchen. This park seems very popular with families when we were there in early December. If you don't like kids zooming around on pedal bikes etc, and there was plenty of them, (children) don't go around the holiday seasons. New owners were taking over the Monday after we left, so there may be some changes down the track.

Clean pool, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Liked:- Plenty of shade for those who like to park under trees. A lovely pool setup.
Disliked:- We were unlucky. A large group of younger people with 10 to 15 year old children came in and were very loud. They were partying till 3.00am with some of their kids still running and screaming around at 2.30am till they finally went to bed. Management informed me I should have rang the office phone number after hours to complain. Management were very apologetic next morning.
