Qld, Longreach, Longreach Tourist Park

Date of Stay: May 2014 Rating: 3
On way into Longreach from Barcaldine. Handy to all attractions in Longreach. Has large number of sites, plus on site restaurant. Staff reasonably friendly, although didn't offer any tourist information, even though it was available in reception. No grass and facilities are limited considering number of sites. Sites are also tight, needing cars to be parked across sites, limiting social contact.

Nice site on highway into town. Facilities are good, but sites are narrow. Nicely grassed with good shade trees. Handy to local attractions, and has free damper afternoon tea daily. Well worth a couple of days, with friendly staff.

Qld, Blackall, Blackall Caravan Park

Date of Stay: May 2014 Rating: 3.5
Nice little park in back streets of Blackall, competes against a local free camp beside Barcoo River. Facilities are reasonable, and sites are sufficient size to take van, awning and car beside each other. During winter, camp oven roasts are available each night, with local entertainment most nights. Meal is very reasonable value as it includes damper and Golden syrup dessert. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Qld, Charleville, Bailey Bar Caravan Park

Date of Stay: May 2014 Rating: 3.5
A comfortable park close to town centre and attractions. Staff are very friendly, and give great assistance for placing van on site. This is necessary, as the sites are very tight in general. They are all grassed, and sullage is to the garden. Camp oven meals are done 3 days per week, and are good value, with bookings needed. Tight sites mean cars are parked across front of site which can limit social contact with those walking past. Facilities are reasonable, and use of own washing machine is banned, although site machines are cheap at $3 per load.

Qld, Cunnamulla, Warrego Riverside Tourist Park

Date of Stay: May 2014 Rating: 4
A nice park, 3 km out of town. Decent facilities, good grassed sites, although only 24 of them, and a number of dusty riverside unpowered sites. Owners are very friendly and accommodating. Put on a happy hour fire and get things moving each night, with a raffle for RFDS/Careflight each Friday. All in all a nice place for a couple of nights.

NSW, Broken Hill, Broken Hill Tourist Park

Date of Stay: May 2014 Rating: 1.5
Park experience this time most disappointing. Site had no sullage point, and when asked what we were expected to do, staff told us to use a bucket or get a longer hose and get water to run up hill. These sites were along the creek/storm drain, and none had sullage. When I went to empty into 2 different drains both were blocked and did not drain. Ladies main toilet block flooded consistently with water from a broken cistern, and a cistern that had been marked for replacement a while ago was still not done. While our site was a good size, there are several rows where the site is only wide enough for the van and awning, and they are not deep enough to allow parking on your site. When cars were parked at the front of the site, they took up the entire width of the site, and made entry to other sites difficult. All in all, at the price charged ($37 per night) they represented poor value.
