Date of Stay: May 2019 Rating: 3
$34 per night powered, no slabs or grass, good size sites. Amenities could do with a clean but cleaner than some road side camps. Water is bore water, drinkable if you like it discoloured. Pool dirty but plenty of dust around so couldn't expect much else. Night lighting ok, just make sure everything locked and out of sight. Camp kitchen is one dirty free gas bbq under cover, no chairs or table. Roadhouse attached has bar and restaurant, reasonable priced. Diesel $1.91 this week, $1.87 last week. Staff friendly, good for a night. Just remember this is the outback and with it comes red dirt, dust and lots of flies.

Mary, the owner is loverly. She runs the park on her own. She was in hospital when I arrived and the park was run by her daughters. Mary came back to work and took over but I think she may be thinking of calling it a day shortly. Park is on the market.

NSW, Lake St Clair, Lake St Clair Campgrounds

Date of Stay: November 2016 Rating: 2.5
Manager's name is Frank
Lake St Clair is the main water supply for Singleton. The Camp/Van ground offers 11 powered sites but most without water and 38 hectares of camping space. The manager has been there for many years and I guess is over it. Unfriendly and uncooperative. There are two amenity blocks, one with just one show and toilet, the other with two. After the weekend the larger, and newer, block is locked up leaving one toilet and one show to cope with weekly campers, 26 at the time of my stay.
Unfriendly staff, average staff response to complaints. Good value for money $22.50 for 2A PN, unpowered, off-peak season. Were dirty, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate sullage close by. Late checkout allowed, mobile wireless not available carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 1. Noisy, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent or annual vans. Dirty UC electric BBQs fuel costs 2.00, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- Great place to go fishing for Bass. Good Boat ramp. In some areas you can launch of the bank. The views over the lake are stunning and if you could find a quite corner it would be a wonderful place to spend a week even if you didn't fish
Disliked:- Although park is massive, it would be very noisy in peak periods with no management control. Experienced large number of campers with loud music to all hours and camp fires during total fire bans. Lack of phone coverage can be a problem but if you drive about 5ks back towards Singleton you will pick up service.
Road Conditions:- Roads to park and into are all in good conditions
