NSW, Bawley Point, Racecourse Beach Tourist Caravan Park

Date of Stay: November 2015 Rating: 2
This is a well shaded park just behind the beach. If you are staying in one of the cabins it would be an enjoyable experience. However. All the powered and non powered sites are under many huge trees that have not been trimmed or had their dead branches removed for some time. The end result of our stay on a powered site was three dents on the roof of our Prado and many frightening crashes on the roof of the van. In a high wind it would be like playing Russian roulette. At $43 a night shoulder season it is expensive. The showers are 20c in the slot for 3 minutes of hot water. The reticulated water is dam water and is salty and not suitable for drinking. There are no sites with slabs.

Small number of sites. All gravel. Bore water. Get key for power from the café. A truck stop on the intersection of two highways so very noisy. Good food at café. Ok for just one night if you are tired and have to stop.

NSW, Wellington, Wellington Caves Caravan Park

Date of Stay: May 2015 Rating: 3.5
Friendly staff, no complaints. Good value for money $29 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Dirty UC electric BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere. Suitable for few days, suitable for families.
Liked:- Very quiet. Well of the highway. No noise at night.
Disliked:- Absolutely no level sites. Looked for ages but in the end had to settle for a site wheer we felt like we were sliding down out of our bed all night. Such a shame as a beautiful park apart from this.
Added Touches:- The Wellington cave are right next to the park.

Great little caravan park. Geoff and Sarah are the owners. On arrival a sign advised to select a site and set up. Later Sarah greeted us with a plate of scones, her home made jam and cream. They both have made us most welcome. The nightly camp fire, yarn and a drink is a highlight. If you want a quiet well run park well of the main road, dead quiet at night with genuine hosts then this is it. Cost $25 a night powered with two people.

The park has great cabins, fantastic pool, good kids play area, but the caravan sites are dirt (just three slabs that we could count), the interior roads are badly potholed dirt.
