Unfriendly staff, bad staff response to complaints. Reasonable value for money ($32 2A PN, off-peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided. Mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, no sites are shaded, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. No rec room, basic camp kitchen, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless (carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5). Noisy, open & roomy park, not enough shade. Clean UC bbq, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground, no pool.
Disliked:- Complaint to management about very loud music from very large outdoor video screen installed about 50m away was received rudely. Appears the screen was an initiative of management. Dump point has no tap or hose and was disgusting. Be careful of biting insects. Park recently reopened after renovations but is still a work in progress.

NSW, Port Macquarie, NRMA Port Macquarie Breakwall Holiday Park

Date of Stay: January 2010 Rating: 3.5
Excellent location near the beach and town but the park is becoming a little tired. Very busy when we stayed in January (as you'd expect) but sites not prepared - grass as it existed not mowed and droppings from Norfolk Pines littered sites. Dump point adjacent to some sites so be careful to avoid. Amenities fairly tired but clean and in sufficient number. Fairly chaotic parking at reception at busy times for check in/out. Few concrete slabs and almost all on wrong side of site if you want the annexe on the slab. Secure entry for vehicles but open access to passersby. Security poor with a lot of theft while we were there and intruding drunken hoons. Average staff friendliness, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money ($37 2A PN, powered, peak season). Amenity number was adequate to cope with the number of people, are close to all sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few concrete annex slabs, shade to some sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry but expensive at $4 per machine, dump point, secure entry, wireless internet is available but only in games room, you can use your mobile wireless, reception quality was 5). Quiet, open & roomy park, not enough shade, no permanents. Dirty pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for.
Liked:- Location
Disliked:- Poor security and level of theft. Open access to pedestrians leading to drunken hoons coming into the park. Poor preparation of sites
Parking:- Quite chaotic at busy check in/out times
