NSW, Wallaga Lake, Regatta Point Holiday Park

Date of Stay: February 2017 Rating: 3
We overnighted at this park and found that once at our site that the impression that you had at the gate was not what you had once you were on the site. Yes, most of the park is occupied by permanent cabins. The lowest level of the park is grassed and reserved for a small number of vans. There are powered 6 premium sites and 8 pet friendly sites on absolute lake front. The owners are very obliging and we received help to get our van on the site. The owners are happy to park your van alongside the lake edge with their tow tractor so that everyone has a view from their awning. We did not need this service as we were here for just a night. There is even a dog bath in the amenities block area. The amenities were old but everything was very clean. Shower cubicles were spacious and all the shower heads were new. The laundry was adequate with enough machines $4 charged. Good TV and wireless internet. Telstra was 3G 5 bars. We paid $35 for the night. This is not a park for for children on holiday who need playgrounds and jumping pillows. The emphasis is on fishing and Great Lake views. The roads are unsealed and the office, not fancy but friendly. First impressions often hide a park that, while basic, is friendly and helpful. We have never been in a park where your van is personally parked for you to allow for a lovely view of Wallaga Lake.

Qld, Ingham, Ingham Tourist Park

We overnighted here and were pleasantly surprised at the well-tended park. This park is on the Bruce Highway. We normally don't stay at highway parks because of the noise, but despite the fact that both highway and rail are close, noise was not an issue. Most of the sites are drive through gravel and, joy of joys, Level. The amenities were clean and the showers were roomy with a decent change area. A low step into the shower prevented water flowing into the change area. Very good camp kitchen with TV, seating and 2 computers for the use of guests, BBQ and full electric stove. Would not hesitate to recommend this park. We visited in the off season, so not sure about peak times.
