Date of Stay: August 2014 Rating: 3.5
Well kept park. Plenty of drive through sites and they allow dogs on a leash. They have a happy hour and have meals for $16pp, though we would not recommend the Bushmans Stew. It was so bad hubby couldn't eat it. Facilities are clean.

Manager's name is Lee.
The local caravan park is full of miners huts so we ventured to the showgrounds. Facilities are basic with showers and toilets but are spotlessly clean. A volunteer, Lee, comes around every afternoon to collect the fees. $15 powered sites $10 unpowered. There are plenty of sites with power and water and sites are level. There is an old fashioned dump point and another at the rest stop just on the outskirts if town. Local butcher has excellent meat. Try his rump steak!!
Friendly staff. Very good value for money $15 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, no sites are shaded, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, no permanents. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.

Council run park and in a pretty and peaceful location. We were happy with the park but it seemed that they do need to upgrade facilities but sadly the council won't spend the money. Short walk to the beach.

Qld, Yeppoon, BIG4 Capricorn Palms Holiday Village

Date of Stay: July 2012 Rating: 4
This is an extremely well run BIG4 park about 8 mins south of Yeppoon. It is only about 200m to a beautiful beach which is great for long walks. Management are extremely obliging, there's a great kids play area, swimming pool and a new waterside is currently being installed. BBQ's are free and the camp kitchen is very good. We liked the sites on the fence at the bottom of the park as they were very large and the fence protected us from the wind. These sites also get full sun all day which was great for July. More night lighting would be appreciated around the BBQ area. Showers, toilets and laundry facilities were very good. Price was $36 before our discount.

NSW, Lightning Ridge, Opal Caravan Park

Date of Stay: June 2012 Rating: 4
This is a very well run park which has all the latest facilities. The toilet/ shower block is huge. They are modern, clean and have glass shows doors and provide hairdryers for the ladies. The sites are all drive through and are huge. Staff are very helpful and a campfire is provided every night with some entertainment every second night. Tours can be booked thro the office and pick you up at the park. Lightning Ridge is certainly a must see place and the park is suitable for a week or more. The Artesian pool is a short walk down the road and a must do.

Manager's name is Dianne and Jamie. Very impressed with the service and friendliness of this park. Jamie guided us into our site and made us welcome. They have a campfire in the colder weather which is huge and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Facilities are older but spotless and the sites are drive through and large. Well worth a stay. Drive in and someone will come along and collect your money after you are set up. Cost was $15. The amenities block was absolutely spotless with glass doors and rubber mats. The water was hot and plenty of it. The laundry has adequate facilities and the park is far enough off the road to avoid the road noises. The bbq are was clean and at no cost. The permanents who stay there were very friendly and helpful. Water tanks are available for drinking water. Phone reception was very good with Telstra.
Liked:- The cost at only $15. Exceptionally clean and quiet park. You could walk into the town for a meal at the pub or to do some shopping.
Disliked:- Only thing we could find was that there is no sullage and water directly available to your site but they do have hoses that you can use to fill your tank on the way out.
