NSW, Jugiong, Jugiong Showground

Date of Stay: January 2015 Rating: 3
This area has improved since we last visited and the grounds now appear to be kept short possibly due to the number of visitors who stay for either overnite or longer. The dump point gets plenty of use from visitors and is very welcome. Heaps of area to camp and still give neighbours space. The only disappointment for us was to see the number of vans and motorhomes who stayed or made use of the facilities who did not make a donation of any type towards the upkeep of the area. After all what is a few dollars to the showground for upkeep. We saw travellers in cars stopping to use the toilets putting donations in the box. If they can do It, why cannot Van and Motorhome users do the same? LOPAJO

The New Owners who apparently own a very large number of Villages in Australia have set about to change the park and put a large area into providing a Retirement facility with a small Tourist area. At the moment much construction work is taking place and the tourist area is now confined to the tarred drive thru sites with no longer any grass sites available except for a few tent areas. They do plan to change the tourist area and extend it but this may not take place for some time. It will be interesting to see what they do provide for the tourists. LOPAJO

Broke our homeward journey again and got the last powered site on the grass area again. Still appears to be a very popular park particularly for long term and workers with long grass under a number of vans or motorhomes. TV, mobile and water pressure were all excellent at the sites. Some road noise but this tapers off at night. LOPAJO

Vic, Korumburra, Korumburra Tourist Park

Date of Stay: December 2014 Rating: 2
Whilst this Park is very quiet being basically right down in the valley, found this park to be very untidy in appearance and mainly consisting of either permanents or workers who stay during the week and very few tourists. Happy hour seems to take place week nights and start at 4:30 pm and go to when they decide to finish. Not many tourists visited and not many sites available. Did not like that the none of the amenities including laundry did not appear to be cleaned at all during our stay of a few days. Also it appears that the entry to the park is the entry to a walking area and courts open to the Public and the Public can drive around the park unrestricted. Would check with Information Centre as to alternative as appears to be somewhere else you can stay in the area. LOPAJO

Vic, Loch Sport, Loch Sport Holiday Park

Date of Stay: December 2014 Rating: 3.5
Managers Ray and Belinda are very friendly and welcome you on arrival. They have "recently" taken over the Park and set about tidying the place up. Park is situated on edge of National Park area and is spaced out amongst the natural bush setting and consequently has lots of Fauna who are constantly visiting. The Park has annual holders together with powered and unpowered sites. Two amenities blocks service the Park with one block refurbished and the other in the 2015 year after the holidays. Each block has a small dump point adjacent for cassettes. Loch Sport is currently being connected to the sewage system being installed to service the Town which has a number of shops and a hotel which serve decent meals. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the peace and serenity of the setting right on the edge of the Lake. Excellent TV and mobile phone coverage and able to get internet from our site. LOPAJO

NSW, Lake Eucumbene, Alpine Tourist Park - Adaminaby

Date of Stay: November 2014 Rating: 3
A small park on the highway from Tumut to Cooma but very quiet and no noise at night. Friendly owners and will try and make your stay pleasant. Currently $30 per night for powered sites which is reasonable. the park is only a few hundred metres from the small shopping centre which can provide essential requirements. The park has a number of annual sites which can get busy at peak times. Amenities are a little dated but sufficient for normal times. A dump point is installed but kept locked in accordance with Council requirements. Water pressure at sites is a bit weak but is the same as in the township we were advised. A good spot to base yourself to explore the surrounding area for a few days. Mobile reception from Telstra was good.

The current owners have finally done something for travellers after almost two years. A relocatable building with ensuite type amenities plus a couple of toilets, all unisex, has been installed and two older blocks have been closed. Unfortunately still not much done to the drive-thru van sites with some road base material being used to fill in the worst of the washout areas, but they are still all bare dirt and consequently very dusty. The current unfriendly managers who have been there for some 6/7 months admit they have not been onto the site and consequently have no idea of the layout or size of sites. Not interested in you unless you have made a booking, something that we have not had to do all the time we have been going there. even though we were the first in for the day, reception was not interested in letting us go and pick a site as we usually do and let the computer do it. This was the way they handled arrivals and people finished up side by side with no consideration of size. We were allocated a site which happened to be the narrowest in the Park and could not put our awning out. Unfortunately we will not be back here and will have to change our travel patterns.

NSW, Tumut, Riverglade Caravan Park

Date of Stay: November 2014 Rating: 4
This Park is no longer a FPA affiliated Park. Some time since we have been here but a lovely spot on the river and full range of facilities and amenities. River side sites are very popular and unless you have booked ahead may not be available for your visit. Friendly staff and will try and help you have a nice stay. Some traffic noise from the logging trucks but this is for only short periods and can be easily tolerated. Lovely grass sites which will accommodate the largest rigs.

NSW, Jindabyne, Kosciuszko Mountain Retreat

Date of Stay: November 2014 Rating: 4
Now called Kosciuszko Tourist Park with new managers Nathine and Katrina who are very friendly and will try and help you have a pleasant time. This Park is not your normal type park with all bells and whistles but a "back to Nature" experience, being within the boundary of the National Park. No TV or internet connection but wifi available by contacting the Office. Mobile is available from near the Office. Sites are situated amongst the snow gums and can accommodate large rigs but have to be aware of the trees when accessing the sites which are separated from one another. Good amenities and facilities with good water pressure to each site. The block closest to the Office has been refurbished and was our choice. The older block at the back of the park is yet to be done. Dump point available for cassettes. Plenty of natural flora and fauna to see during your stay with night time visitors. Totally recommend this park for a pleasant stay to explore the area being approx.15 km out of Jindabyne

NSW, Bombala, Bombala Park Caravan Park

Expecting a typical country Council run Park we were totally disappointed with this Park. Grass was very high and not cut for some time even though around the trees had been cleaned up. Garbages full.Got in early and basically select your own site with most sites shaded. Caretaker was abrasive and unfriendly on initial contact. indicating he tolerated no nonsense. This turned out to be far from the truth, as we had to personally ask some drunken locals who were visiting someone in the Park to please consider others, after we had requested the Caretaker to intervene and enforce the Council Rules of quiet after 9:00 pm at night. This was after 10:00 pm with the party going on since 4:00 pm. We submitted an official complaint to Council on our experiences. Totally disappointed with locals being able to drive around the park at any time.
