NSW, Newcastle, Newcastle's Stockton Beach Caravan Park - Stockton

Date of Stay: July 2016 Rating: 4.5
Very nice park with excellent amenities the park is well kept with a camp kitchen that must be seen to believe. The park is on the beachfront and allows for a pleasant walk. TV reception is good and wifi perfect. Staff very friendly and will help with any queries. It's a short ferry trip to Newcastle with a brief walk to the terminal. Would recommend.

What a great park very tidy and well kept. Amenities were always kept pristine as are the caravan sites. The park is situated on a small inland waterway and allows you to fish very near to your site. TV reception was perfect as was wifi. A short walk to Forster is ideal for a coffee and snack. The park has a good playground and heated pool. The ensuite sites now have artificial grass and look beautiful. Would recommend.

We had a lovely position overlooking the ocean. Park has great potential but lacks a bit of care. The amenities a clean and well kept but would struggle peak season. The BBQ was always kept clean but the sites were lacking. The grass was very high and needed cutting and no assistance to park the van in very tight turning areas. TV is by coaxial cable and mobile signal poor. Dislike was vans allowed in after 10.00pm and the noise associated with until about 11.00pm. It may have been a one off hopefully.

Great park just out of town. The park is situated alongside a inlet away from the ocean which gives it protection from the strong winds. The owner has strict security giving us confidence walking around at night. TV reception was great, lawned areas with slabs. A dog area was on one side of the park. Amenities were spotless some of the best we have encountered. Plenty to see and do, Smokey Cape lighthouse, the jail and good fishing. Great club for dinner as well. Great park would recommend highly.

Stayed 3 nights. A nice park especially the western side where it is more spacious. Amenities were cleaned twice daily and overall very pleasant park. Two comments, TV reception was very poor and the toilets need a good foot mat outside to stop mud being carted into the cubicles. The park is protected from the ocean and sits on the edge of the river . There are two swimming pools one heated with a little cafe alongside. We enjoyed our sta.y

NSW, Port Macquarie, Melaleuca Caravan Park

Date of Stay: June 2015 Rating: 4
After having been disappointed with parks in Port Macquarie before this time we tried The Melaleuca park and was happily surprised. It is a small older park but is very well kept. The managers at all times have been helpful and friendly and the park is a credit to them. It is close to the main road but is very quiet. TV reception is a bit hit and miss but there is a cable connection on our site. They do not supply cables. The ammenities block is a bit outdated but kept immaculate this includes the kitchen and BBQ areas. As the park is small I would suggest ring ahead and book. Sites have slabs and grass. Would recommend staying here as it is close to most things.

Lovely park with very clean amenities. There is always someone gardening and cleaning and the park is pristine. The only suggestion is to ask not to be put on the sites between the cabins. Managers on Tuesday nights do a sausage sizzle which is great time to have a chat to people. Will definitely go back. TV reception good, large sites with slabs and matting, very quiet.

Small but well maintained park. Relieving manager very helpful. Amenity block very clean. Variety of sites, drive-thru, slab, grass, to chose from. Good TV reception. Good mobile phone service. Sites a little small. Good value for money at $31. About 5 kilometres from centre of city.

Vic, Kilmore, Kilmore Caravan Park

Date of Stay: December 2014 Rating: 2
Stayed at this park yesterday. We found the older managers grumpy and less than helpful. The park was small and poorly maintained. It was very dusty and unloved. The amenities were throw up from the 60's but reasonably clean but very old. A lot of semi permanents (tradies I think) no TV reception and needed coaxial cable from office. Very very poor value for $36.00

Currently staying at the Goldfields park and so impressed with the cleanliness. The amenities are absolutely pristine. Reception was friendly and helpful. Camp kitchen and BBQ's are so pleasant to use. Grounds could do with a little top dressing but overall a nice park. Tariff was $34.00 after discount.
