The description, (above) in the header for this location explains why it is strategically located and therefore busy. The food in their cafe is excellent, not the usual grease and batter, and varied as well as sensibly priced. I recommend that you eat there. Almost all sites are drive-through and you can stay hitched up at every site. Although on the main road, the sites are back from the road at least 100m and truck noise is not intrusive.
Very friendly staff, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $42.00 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, kiosk, no wireless internet available. carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 1. Open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter.

Local Information:- A couple of hundred metres walk will get you to the Ashburton River for pretty scenery or a splash depending on the river level.

$38.00 per night powered 2 adults. Park at side of road house. Clean amenities. Sites are red dirt with a little bit of grass between sites.
