I will start this report by advising that a new owner had taken over the resort shortly before our stay. We had a Travel Auction Voucher, our bid being $25 pn pwd. Due to a large booking we split our stay into 2 x 5 nights. From conversations with other guests they also had used Travel Auctions. This is a large park which includes a large residentail village and many annual sites. This two areas are separate from most of the camping area. Guests are not allowed to walk around the residential area. For the most part, the annual sites are very run down. The existing cabin accomodation is to be removed. There are two amenity blocks, but on both our visits all camping was based neared the only block which was open. The amenities were cleaned each day, but to my knowledge at least one cubical was not replenished for at least four days. The laundry is very run down, with no hot water even in the sink. To use machines you are required to purchase a token at office. The camp kitchen was situated on the far side of office, not operating restaurant and tennis courts. ie a long way from any sites. The 3 BBQs were very dirty and rusty. Only one had a working gas bottle. It did have hot water, jug, toaster and fridge, but I am not sure if I would put food in it. The resort was set up for conferences, and still advertises as such, but without any accomodation I don't know how it will be usable. The shop had very limited supplies. When we arrived there had been heavy rain and many of the sites were dug up and rutted. The only thing that seemed in good condition was the pool, which may relate more to the requirements for the residentail village. A van supplied coffee and food most mornings, with pizza a couple of evenings. While we found the $25 pn a stretch for facilities provided, the normal rate is over $40 increasing to over $100 over Xmas. We wish the new owners the best of luck bringing the resort back to what it was at some time in the past. Likes - access to river and beach. Close proximity to Nambucca Heads, Coffs Harbour and Bellingen among other places. Monthly markets in park next door. Good meals at local Tavern, a couple of coffee shops in town.
