Neat grassy park next to Snowy mountains river.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $40 for 2A PN, powered, shoulder season. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, disabled facilities, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days, well maintained park, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- Dog friendly, choice of sites, new camp kitchen. Easy walks along the river. New owner, Lloyd gave us a POI map of the pleasant historic small town.
Disliked:- No dump point and no dump point in the town and the one at Berridale (16km away) has been decommissioned.
Local Information:- Good meals at the nearby Buckleys crossing hotel. Platypus in the river at dusk. No fuel in the town.
Road Conditions:- Browns mountain from Merimbula is bendy but not as steep as expected.
