Stayed here before. Excellent spot for overnight in colder months, need power in minus temps. There is work being carried out at the moment, but adequate large van and motor homes sites available. We paid $33 dollars for a powered sit for 2 people in our 7.5mt total length caravan. Larger rigs ..like buses, pay $38.00. Large shower block and there is a dump point at the rear of the toilets. Well worth a stay. So much to see in this city.

Absolutely woeful when comparing with Caravan Parks which you do when paying $33 a night. Canberra is very poorly serviced for parks which is such a pity as there is SO much to do and see in our Capital City. In fact a significant number of our club's members declined to come to the club gathering simply because they didn't want to endure the horrible park conditions. While the park manager is great and is very customer focussed, the ablutions are basic (bare unpainted concrete floors only) the sites have few sullage outlets so you're walking through other people's sullage all the time and there are no paths from one row to another - the whole thing is quite ikky and worth about $10 a night!!
Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints. Poor value for money $35 for 2A. Paid $33.00, reduced for Group Booking. Amenities are close to only some sites, were dirty, condition is poor, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. No rec room, no camp kitchen, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Able to stay in Canberra
Disliked:- It was very very basic with poor facilities, blocked dump point, no sullage and just plain ikky!

We stay here each year and its getting expensive at $33 a night for what you get. They are improving the park with new sites and a new road. The toilet block is quite old but is kept clean. Its the best place to stay in Canberra as its so central.

Stayed overnight The sites are large enough for any size rigs. Staff are friendly and help with mud map to select your own site Shower and toilets were clean and well maintained. Lots to see in Canberra. The bus service is right outside the park entrance, the best way to get around.

We have stayed here many times but I think the cost of $33/night for a powered site is very expensive given what you get. An old and very run down amenities block with a laundry, a power pole and water at the sites. I think EPIC management has become very greedy by increasing the price to stay here annually by 10%. Also charging a higher fee for bigger vans is a bit expensive at $36/night. There is a dump point. But at $33 you should have some additional facilities to justify the price. I would encourage EPIC management to review the price structure given staying here is like staying at a showground. Most showgrounds around Australia charge only $20/night for a powered site.

Friendly staff, no complaints. Good value for money $33 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, dump point, no wireless internet available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. No BBQs. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Convenient to attractions of Canberra and much cheaper than other options.
Disliked:- No control on access by non campers. Can be a bit noisy but not unbearable. Big crowd at the Saturday market.
Added Touches:- No added touches. All basic stuff.
Local Information:- Get over the unattractivenes of Canberra and enjoy the free entry to lots of stuff. Go to the deep space centre.
Road Conditions:- Very good.

EPIC has good access from the Federal highway and from Flemington Road. The camp office is located on the first turn to the left as you enter the grounds from Flemington Road. You will need to have a good look as signs are small and you could sail past them. Most travellers go straight to camp grounds and unhitch and then report to the office for payment. Prices recently went up on2 February 2015. Under 12ft $33.00 for 2A or over 12ft $38.00 per night for 2AM for a powered site. You will be given a sticker with you name, arrival and departure date to be affixed to your gas bottle for the ranger to inspect daily. water pressure is good. Grey water hoses are placed on the ground as no sewer points. Powered and non-powered sites. Internet connection/Telstra phones a 5. Good amenity block with disabled toilet and showers. Hot and cold basin taps, liquid soap and electric hand dryers. 2 dump points. One grey dump point and one black dump point. Good laundry and very basic camp kitchen with sinks, bench and power points. This is the only pet friendly park in Canberra so I have been told. Travellers are very friendly and camp office receptionist very welcoming and helpful. Park is approx 5-7 kms from the city. Also hosts farmers market every Saturday morning with exception when Canberra show is on. Caltex service station and Macdonalds at front of park on northbound lanes of Federal Highway. Buses to city on doorstep at Flemington Road. Enjoy watching the trotters (horses) training across the road. Caravan/RV storage available. We consider this park expensive in comparison to other campgrounds we have visited however Canberra Caravan Parks are a lot more expensive than the Showgrounds and this is the cheapest place to stay with you van. We have been here a week. Check the EPIC website before planning your visit to Canberra as it does close to travellers for example when the Canberra Show is on.

Easy convenient location, but for what you get, is very overpriced when you get charged $35 for a site which is covered in tall grass, obviously not been cut for some time. Some shade trees but others have no shade at all. Has a dump point and some night lighting but surprisingly TV reception was not the best. Some events held during the night in the adjoining trotting area can light the place up like daylight but at least this finished reasonably early.

We vist here every year and normally nothing much changes, the price is still $30 per night, the sites are OK and big enough for any sized rig, however this year, there are works in progress to add more powered sites closer to where the farmers market is held. Epic can be full so these sites will help in the busy times.

Located just off the highway as you enter Canberra from the north. Chosen because it takes dogs. It seems a very strange place for a caravan park - its part of a huge showground. The office is miles away and closer to the entrance than the park itself - keep your eyes open and look for the big "Caravan Park Office" sign. Nice staff, cost about $30, sites are self serve although things might be different in busier times. Its about 1km from the office to the sites - just follow the ring road. Sites are numbered - the power box is the best guide. Some level, some on a hump, some drive through, no slabs. No sullage but dump point not far from amenities which are not the cleanest i have seen. Trees are quite small so no shade if you are visiting in summer. For winter visitors fill up your kettle the night before otherwise you will not get water next morning due to frozen lines. The place is well lit at night and very quiet. Shops are miles away.

We spent 17 nights here and found the park very good. Amenities were cleaned daily, were in good condition and adequate for the number of sites. Good laundry, only $3 a load. Most sites are drive thru and there is plenty of room for large motorhomes and 5th wheelers. Pets allowed on leash. Shade to some sites, most are level, Telstra wireless reception was 5, we had some problems with tv reception. It rained heavily for a couple of days but the drainage in the park was great, you couldn't tell it had rained. No muddy spots I could see. Black water dump point was free to use and there is also a free grey water dump point. Local farmers market every Saturday next door. Canberra has to see so leave 4-5 days. $35 for vans over 24 ft. $30 for others, no discounts. For a large city this is a reasonable price.

We have given the showgrounds a 3 for location and site sizes, that's all, nothing else. Pick your own site so people go where ever they want regardless of whether it's a site or not. They leave dogs locked up in vans all day so they can go out, resulting in constant barking. Amenities are boarding on disgraceful, washing machines filthy around the tops etc. The woman who attempts to clean them is constantly fighting a losing battle. Peak times such as Floriade they cannot cope. The adjoining camping areas amenities used by show people are great and clean. It's a shame because it's location is such a bonus. Canberra is so clean, friendly and so many attractions are free. Far too expensive for what you get. Get your act together Epic you've lost us.
