NSW, Cowra, Cowra Van Park

Date of Stay: August 2024 Rating: 2.5
Yes the grounds are well looked after. Yes there are shower screens. They are the only positives. This is a very noisy park right next to main roads which intersect with a bridge and semi trailers of all sorts used their engine brakes throughout the night. There are 2 lots of men’s and ladies toilet/showers blocks. We were there for 3 nights and not once were the second lot of amenities opened even though the park was reasonably full. There was a sign on each saying that these amenities are being cleaned, use the other amenities. There were only 2 showers and 2 toilets. Would I stay again? Highly unlikely.

Do not go to this park if you are going to arrive after 2pm on the weekend. They will not admit anyone after this time. Seems wrong to me. Even if you ring after 2 you only get the recorded message regarding opening hours. Very strange setup. Would help if they had a mobile number. We ended up staying at the Showgrounds which was brilliant.

Small park, well maintained. Amenities old but kept clean. Managers need to make sure showers are usable in cold weather. We had no hot water in the showers which is no fun when it’s -3 degrees. This is a pretty park and would be great in Autumn, Spring and Summer! Good for a few days. Would have rated higher if there was no water issues.

Misleading information regarding site availability. We were led to believe park was full with caravan club taking most of the sites. This proved to be wrong as there seemed to be sites that weren’t used the entire time we were here.

The park is currently being managed by Ash and his partner and they are doing a brilliant job from assisting with parking vans to getting the communal fire going each night and attending to all campers needs. Also continuing to do improvements to the park where it’s needed. They are making a huge difference and making the park as welcoming as possible. Will definitely stay again!

Qld, Clermont, Clermont Showground

Date of Stay: July 2024 Rating: 2.5
These Showgrounds are brilliant with clean amenities, plenty of powered sites and water with plenty of space. It feels more like a caravan park than Showgrounds. It is supposedly only an overflow situation if the caravan park is full. As mentioned in my review of the Clermont caravan park, we only decided to check the Showgrounds after arriving at the caravan park at 4pm and not being able to get in. Not even able to talk to anyone was ridiculous. We would have rated this Showgrounds higher if it wasn’t for the excessively high price of $40 a night. The Showgrounds entrance has a sign saying “no free camping”. It should say there is caravan park area with directions AND cost. Would stay again if the council woke up to the travelling public.
