Qld, Mirani, Mirani Caravan Park

Date of Stay: August 2021 Rating: 4.5
Bob & Debbie still working hard maintaining this great little council run park. Few changes in 3 years. Even the price is still the same at $25/night 2A. Kids no extra charge. Everything neat, tidy & grassy. Dog friendly, Pool next door, Bins at every site. Modern laundry with good book exchange. Not much shade & dump point is around the corner. A good central place to visit Eungella National park, Finch Hatton gorge, Pioneer Valley, Mackay, Kinchant Dam & others. So easy to spend a few days.

Qld, Tully Heads, Googarra Beach Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2021 Rating: 2.5
We requested a site close to the amenities. The lady manager gave us a site at the extreme eastern end of the park. And there were many unoccupied sites much closer that stayed unoccupied while we were there. If we were staying for longer than a few days we would have asked for a change of site. Based on this service we will not be returning.
Average staff friendliness, average staff response to complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. $35 for 2A PN, powered, shoulder season. Amenities are close to most sites, cleanliness was average, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, car wash, dump point, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 2. Liked:- Dog Friendly. Kiosk had good Fish & Chips. Garbage bins at each site. Friendly permanents. Close to tavern. Good pool and camp kitchen
Disliked:- Managers seemed disinterested & lazy. No evidence of a mower or whipper snipper having been used for a while. Concrete slabs were small, cracked with grass growing thru them. Amenities were clean but past their "use by" date.
Added Touches:- Park sold fuel and is next door to the tavern.
Local Information:- Park is not really on the beach.

Liked:- Now dog friendly. Off lease area for dogs. On site kiosk/cafe has excellent food & is licensed.
Disliked:- A bit pricey unless you take advantage of discounts. Some sites a bit tight. Narrow roads. $20 dog bond (refundable). Busy & claustrophobic at weekends .A bit like a mini theme park. So sometimes noisy. Poor wi-fi (not the parks fault). Cairns has the worst wi-fi/internet of any big town in Australia.

Few changes since last year. Price is now $42.50/night 2A ensuite with weekly discount. Park is all ensuites & these still need a spruce up.Concrete edging starting to break up. Nice & central. Some hoon noise at weekends. Small freshwater crocodile in adjacent lake (behind a secure fence). Some whooping from the Curlews at night (not unpleasant).

Park hasn't changed much in 12 months. Still a great park & hard to fault. Price is now $45/night 2A . Neat double slab sites, quiet, 100m to the beach, very dog friendly. New managers Steve & Janine. Small nearby town (easy walk) has a pub & cafe. Kids skate park next door. Kangaroos at the bottom of the park at dusk. Clean modern amenities but floor tiles are sloped incorrectly in both male & female showers leaving no dry area.

Liked:- Dog friendly. Grassy sites. Close to river & boat ramp. Quiet even though its close to the M1
Disliked:- No hand sanitizer in amenities. The pick sites on the water front are not well defined and very small. There are 2 Reflections parks in Brunswick Heads with "reserve" in their name. Don't go to the wrong one.
