Amenities are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Mostly level sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Liked:- Great location - very pretty alongside Tallebudgera Creek.
Disliked:- Very busy from Friday - Sunday 10am check out with lots of families camping for the weekend, in not a school holiday period, presumably fairly local folk. Quite noisy with kids on scooters on the roads most of the time. Luckily there wasn't many vans opp our site when we arrived, it can be quite difficult to get into some sites with lamp-posts and fire hydrants around each block.
Parking:- Good checking in area.

Qld, Sunshine Coast, Caloundra Waterfront Holiday Park - Caloundra

Date of Stay: October 2016 Rating: 4.5
This is a lovely park that we have stayed in once two years ago, the whole park is separated by a small mangrove creek. On that occasion we were the other side of the bridge in site C47 so reasonably close to the road, but having the equipment storage shed opposite us deadened the noise somewhat. There is a permanents section to this park and the overflow sites are amongst the cabins which is separated from the main park by a fence. This stay we had a site behind the office (C26) which was fabulous - no traffice noise at all and from our motorhome kitchen windows we could look through to the water. The gate to the boardwalk along the water was quite close to our site and we were very close to the amenities so we really enjoyed the stay.
Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money PN, powered, off-peak season. Paid $41.40, reduced for Big4 member discount. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, very few sites are shaded, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, secure entry, book swap available, wireless internet is available costs , you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Excellent playground, in good condition. Clean pool, heated, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- The location opposite a shopping centre and a short walk to Bullocks Beach and Bullock Street shopping precinct.
Disliked:- Nothing
Parking:- Separate parking bay outside the office before the boom gate.

Qld, Sunshine Coast, Coolum Beach Caravan Park - Coolum Beach

Date of Stay: October 2016 Rating: 4
We stayed at this park a couple of months ago and was in a tent site (209) on the hill. Although it was close to the beach and overlooked the park it was quite windy in that area & a fair way to the amenities, with little internet reception. On a recent one night stay we were allocated site 248 which was much better, it was in the same section but closer to the toilets/showers and within easy range of the camp kitchen where the free internet wireless transmits from. We are FPA members so only paid $40.50 a night. I like this park as it is opposite a lot of restaurants, coffee shops ad boutiques as well as walking distance to clubs and a Coles supermarket. It is well maintained and the amenities kept clean.

Qld, Brisbane, Brisbane Holiday Village - Eight Mile Plains

Date of Stay: September 2016 Rating: 4
This is a well run park in a great suburban location. There is a bus stop outside the park and buses run about every 20 mns, it is just a 5 mn ride to Westfield Garden City where you can use the Busway to access anywhere in the city. If you wish to walk to Garden City it would take about 15 mns or so. The S.E.Motorway is quite close so if your site is in the south western corner of the park you will hear quite a lot of traffic noise, not sure what it is like in the other areas - it is a very large park so you may not hear it at all towards the back.
Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $57 for 2A. Paid $51, reduced for Top Tourist Member Discount. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, adequate taps close by. Good laundry, good rec room, kiosk, disabled facilities, dump point, secure entry, wireless internet is available costs , you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Noisy, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Excellent playground, in good condition. Clean pool, heated, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Location, pool & restaurant on site. We did not use the restaurant but it has received quite a lot of good reviews.
Disliked:- The sullage seemed to be in the middle of the van tracks, ie underneath the van? Our grey water outlet hose could not reach the normal one which was behind the car parking space.
Parking:- Booking in lane at entrance will hold 1 rig, the same space is used for the vans booking out which seemed a bit of a strange arrangement.

NSW, Tweed Heads, Boyds Bay Holiday Park

Since our last visit in 2012 this park has had the fabulous addition of a huge outdoor kitchen and eating area including undercover BBQs and lots of tables, a separate entertainment room with big TV & lounges. As well as this there is outdoor gym equipment set up nearby and a fabulous kids playground - however bark as a base means kids tiny feet suffer. This whole area is next to their wonderful pool, with great water slide, which now has shade sails across half of it and new toilets installed at the end of the outdoor kitchen area.
Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money $35 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Paid $97, reduced for Long weekend Fri-Sat-Sunday night deal. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, secure entry, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 2. Excellent playground, in good condition. Clean pool, pool is shaded, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Wonderful pool and kitchen set-up. I do like the gate tag on the end of a long stick which makes it much easier to get close enough to the machine to open gate.
Disliked:- Sand flies. Having said that I was the only one in our party of 6 badly bitten (50 bites on one arm alone), others only got two or three bites, some none!
Parking:- Booking in lane is BEFORE the main drive-way and easy to miss.
Added Touches:- Boat ramp, fish cleaning table. Free daily internet pass code available from office each day with hotspot being the kitchen.
Local Information:- Handy to shops, about 500 mtrs north of Tweed City Shopping centre

Having submitted my recent report on this park I spoke with an officer from the Parks Div. responsible for the park upgrade. He confirmed the important news that the park is closing for 4 months from 26 April until Mid September 2016 for upgrades including the extension of the beach retaining wall, installation of new cabins and relocation of the office. Roads, drainage & trees will also be assessed. It appears that the new cabins will go at an angle in front of existing cabins (some are being replaced) and all waterside camping sites will be retained which is a big plus in this small park. If you intend visiting this park in the future I would recommend making reservations asap as it is often fully booked.

Reading through my last report on this park I can say that it's still as good as it was in 2014. This stay the park is extremely busy and full most night, including week nights. Park management have been extremely good in enabling us to stay on our booked site for a 4th night as we had thought we'd have to shift for the final night. Luckily someone cancelled on that night. For a 4 day week booking ie Monday, Tues, Wed & Thurs nights it is pay for 3 nights ($36) get 4th night free which is a fab deal. This time we have a site with low trees and with the height of our motorhome it means we need to park as close to the front boundary as possible, but the shade offered is appreciated. Free internet of 2 hrs per day for one machine is now offered, which is a big plus. You can use your own wireless dongle, we use Telstra and there are 2 bars so it takes a little while to get going, but once on, seems to operate ok. More cafes have opened in the shopping area since our last visit and the good Pizza shop is now located in the main drag between the Celebrations Liquor store and the Thai restaurant / Hardware store complex. Moobal Creek is still as brilliant as ever and crystal clear, a lovely spot to swim in.

The band noise from live entertainment across the bay on a weekend afternoon is clearly heard in this park although thankfully it did finish late afternoon.
Friendly staff, no complaints. Good value for money $36 for 2A, powered, off-peak season. Paid $32, reduced for Top Tourist discount. Amenities are close to only some sites, cleanliness was average, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, secure entry, book swap available, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Noisy, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Excellent playground, in good condition. Clean pool, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more.
Liked:- Lovely pool area
Disliked:- We were given two site numbers but check in lady said because there was a van parked beside one number we asked about she preferred to 'space' out vans so I choose another site that looked big on the map. Turned out that site had a large dipping drain running down the side of it and was about as far from the amenities as you could get. The van already in my preferred first choice area was the only one to occupy the whole block of 10 of so sites of which 6 were clearly long enough for our rig.
Added Touches:- Could not log into the free internet on our site (think it was 100MB from memory), but could do so at the camp kitchen which was quite a walk away. Excellent play room for kids. Good book swap in main laundry near pool.

I have rated it as a holiday park for 'grey nomads'
Friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $40 for 2A, powered, off-peak season. Paid $130, reduced for Stay 4 pay $10 for 4th night. Amenities are close to only some sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, kiosk, dump point, secure entry, wireless internet is available is free, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Excellent playground, in good condition. Clean pool, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for month or longer, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- As others have said, this is a fabulous park if you have kids - we don't, however as we were away from the majority of campers it was very quiet in our corner. There are permanents in this park, but they have an entirely separate area over the back which is fenced off.
Disliked:- Despite advising the length of our RV we were initially given a site which clearly would not be long enough, mainly because of a lamp post for overhead lines about 2' from the centre back. I had asked for additional site numbers 'just in case' and we finally found one that was a good length for our unit. Amenity block could do with stronger exhausts for shower areas.
Parking:- Parking lane will hold 2 to 3 rigs. Height of overhead awning may be of concern to high vehicles, I seem to recall it was 3.3mtrs but you can drive in to the side of it.
Added Touches:- Free internet with the 'hot spot' being the camp kitchen. For sites within 'cooee' of this building you hit the jackpot - we were quite a way away but it still worked fine most of the time; especially in the 'quiet' times.
Local Information:- Across the road from the surf club which has a fab restaurant for lunch time, not open for dinner. Friday night food marked in the park across the road from the side gate is worth a visit, nice atmosphere.
Road Conditions:- Good entrance to park off main road.

NSW, Bonny Hills, BIG4 Bonny Hills Holiday Park

Date of Stay: February 2016 Rating: 4.5
Wow - this park is Kids Heaven! Having said that most of their actvities ie water park/swimming pool, jumping pillow & mini golf are right away from the van sites. I would have given this park a 5 if the internet hadn't been so frustrating!
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Very good value for money, powered, off-peak season. Paid $37, reduced for Chain Discount. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, secure entry, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting. Excellent playground, in good condition. Clean pool, heated, kid-safe pool area, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Very well run - excellent set-up in the spotlessly clean amenities with two separate sections with toilets & showers in each for both Men & Women so when one was being cleaned, the other half was still available.
Disliked:- Although the park offered free internet of 300MB per day - it was extremely slow most of the time and frustrating trying to get pages open. Each time you signed in it seemed to 'forget' your password so you had to click to get a new one.
Parking:- Not really a good arrangement for signing in - only room for one rig, otherwise wait in the street.
Added Touches:- Free morning tea on a Tuesday, free Balladeer/Comedian another night; great entertainment provided and park patrons were sent a text advising them of this on the day. Great Customer Service
Local Information:- the Fat Fish restaurant is open from 8am each day and serves lunch each day but only open at night on a Friday and Saturday. Excellent menu and chef.
Road Conditions:- If heading north to Bonny Hills take the Kew exit. The Information Centre just before the village on the left 'The Big Axe' has a good size carpark with a dump point on the left hand back corner. Very clean toilets there and the Info Centre itself has lots of unusual local handicraft items for sale.
