NSW, Trangie, Trangie Caravan Park

Date of Stay: September 2016 Rating: 3.5
The park continues to improve under new ownership with additional cabins added his year. Hosts and owners Andrew and Deb are most welcoming with evening snacks and Pizza/stuffed spuds on Thursdays. Their efforts demonstrate just what can be done to an old site with a little attention to detail and drive. At $25pn 2A its a good option whenever you are on the Mitchell Highway.

Qld, Mount Isa, AAOK Moondarra Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2015 Rating: 2.5
Basically an accommodation village- 60% miners,35% permanent, 5% tourist. Not all miner dongas occupied. Showers etc ok basic and reasonably cleaned; good laundry facilities. Tourist sites in process of an upgrade-give it a year. Prices vary from $25-35-oddly the cheaper-all 6-are better.

Vic, Goroke, Lake Ratzcastle Reserve

Date of Stay: March 2015 Rating: 3.5
Approx 10km S of Goroke in Wimmera region. An extensive free camp managed by local Lions club. Basic facilities with flush toilets, uni-sex solar shower and good quality bore water. Lake is a haven for bird life although under pressure at moment due to drought conditions. Local advice is that Red Fin and Yabbies to be caught when water levels improve. A peaceful spot. Recommend mid-week stay.

Vic, Willaura, Willaura Recreation Reserve

Date of Stay: March 2015 Rating: 3.5
Community run at $20 powered pn. Basic facilities but clean. Site is alongside swimming pool. Unfortunately town has all but died. Site is good stopover for night or two.

Vic, Cobram, Oasis Caravan Park

Date of Stay: March 2015 Rating: 4.5
A well managed and appointed park. Prices are exceptional-$30 & $35 for site and en-suite respectively. Our second stay and would happily recommend without reservation. All other aspects of previous reports remain extant.

WA, Esperance, RAC Esperance Holiday Park

Date of Stay: August 2014 Rating: 3
Over priced at $41 2A powered after chain discount and under par in so far as standard of facilities. Old and not aging well. Considerable short stay through put at this time of year as many caravanners use Esperance as an entry/exit point for WA-hence the price gouging. If only some of these park operators would appreciate more the importance of word of mouth recommendations such as this web site they may reassess their business plans and provide better value for money. All previous comments regarding location, site size and natural beauty of the region remain extant.
