NSW, Wentworth, Willow Bend Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2019 Rating: 4
We were greeted very warmly on arrival. Our cabin was of older style but very well maintained and very clean. The main bed was comfortable and warm but the bunk was hard and difficult to get into. No complimentary tea or coffee was offered. At $80 per night we believe it offered good value. The night lighting was the best I've encountered in a long time and there was some lawn on which to walk the dogs. It was clearly a popular park with quite a few people braving the chilly July weather to stay here

Vic, Colac, Colac Otway Caravan and Cabin Park

Date of Stay: May 2019 Rating: 3.5
We received a very warm welcome at this dog friendly park. Our cabin was tucked down the back and had a lovely grassed and garden area to walk the dogs. The park is right on the main road but we were not annoyed by road noise. It is presented neatly but roadways are narrow and parking by the front cabins rather squeezy. I'm not sure how big rigs would cope. There is a selection of cabins, some very modern and a few permanents.

NSW, Broken Hill, Broken Hill Tourist Park

Date of Stay: May 2019 Rating: 3.5
We were in Broken Hill for dog shows and this park was happy to accommodate us. Our cabin was right on the highway so noise was a minor problem. I noticed there were cabins at the back of the park so light sleepers could request one of those. The park was close to full on the weekend we were there. It is large, neat and well set out but don't expect any grass. All sights are covered in bark chip. Our cabin was small with a micro bathroom but was clean and contained everything we needed for a few days. The staff were very friendly and approachable.

SA, Mount Gambier, Limestone Coast Tourist Park

Date of Stay: April 2019 Rating: 3.5
We were in Mount Gambier for dogs shows and this caravan park was happy to accommodate us. The park has a large number of cabins and motel style rooms as well as caravan sites. It is very steep and on a previous visit we had to engage 4WD to reverse the van onto its site and were unable to get the van level even with a block of limestone under the jockey wheel. The sites at the bottom of the park seem more user friendly. This time we booked a cabin which was more than adequate, having everything we needed and being clean and comfortable. The bonus was that our dog was permitted to sleep in the entrance foyer. The park is presented in reasonable condition and has a fenced off leash dog area which proved very popular with the dog exhibitors.

Vic, Bendigo, Gold Nugget Tourist Park - Epsom

Date of Stay: October 2016 Rating: 4
This Top Park is situated on the northern outskirts of Bendigo but is a straight forward drive into the CBD and just a couple of minutes from a shopping centre. It is well laid out with heaps of activities for the kids. Many sites have concrete pads and the grounds are otherwise well grassed. There are a good selection of cabins at both the front and back of the park. We had a 2 bedroom cabin near the front of the park and although close to the Midland Hwy, the noise was not intrusive. Our cabin had a toilet separate from the bathroom, linen was supplied to all beds and there were several useful items supplied such as a sewing kit, washing basket and clothes aired. The cabin was $142.50 /night for 2 adults less chain discount. You could very comfortably have an extended stay at this park.

Vic, Anglesea, Anglesea Beachfront Family Caravan Park

Date of Stay: October 2016 Rating: 4
This is a huge park with about 2/3 being taken up by permanent vans. Having said this they are all well kept and of a good standard. The park appears to have plenty of facilities. We stayed in a modern deluxe 2 bedroom cabin which came with all one would need for an extended stay. The lounges and beds were comfortable, foxtel was provided and the kitchen had both a microwave and an oven. A small bbq and table and chairs were provided on the deck. This cabin cost $156 per night for 2 adults less top parks discount. I would stay here again.

Vic, Red Cliffs, Red Cliffs Caravan Park

Date of Stay: October 2014 Rating: 3.5
We paid $27/ night (2A, pwd site). The park is a standard, grassy park with concrete slabs and shade to many sites. There are 2 amenities blocks. We were encouraged by office staff to use the newer block although told the older block was cleaned every day. As the older block was quite close we used it and found it of only average cleanliness. The park provides a playground but people with very young children and long coated dogs should be aware that the lawns are full of burrs. Also be aware that a 'hump' sign is ridiculously close to the road for vans turning right to get to their site. Our site was very roomy and well grassed with lovely shade on some warmer days.

SA, Leigh Creek, Leigh Creek Caravan Park

Date of Stay: August 2014 Rating: 3
A dusty, gravel park as you would expect in this area. A very reasonable charge of $20/ night for 2 adults on a powered site. The park has all the normal amenities but is rather like a mining camp in appearance.

SA, Whyalla, Discovery Holiday Park

Date of Stay: August 2014 Rating: 4
This park is in a great location, right on the Gulf and set well off the road which means it's very quiet. It cost $30.60/ night after chain discount. A refundable charge of $20 was applied for use of boom gate card. As a previous contributor wrote caravans owners were directed to the gravel sites when most of the lawn sites were left vacant. These gravel sites are very gently sloping but it does not cause a problem. There are 2 amenities blocks. The one near the gravel sites is in good condition and was clean during our stay. The camp kitchen and laundry are close to the bottom amenities block and too far away to be useful for those at the back of the park. There are, however, clothes lines near the top amenities block. Overall a nicely kept, large park with plenty of accommodation types.

SA, Arno Bay, Arno Bay Foreshore Tourist Park

Date of Stay: August 2014 Rating: 4
What a little gem this park is! Right on the Gulf, it is absolutely quiet except for the sound of the waves. It is adjacent to the hotel, the foreshore park and the mini mart/ cafe. It is 1km from a very modern boat ramp and a 1km stroll from the post office. At $29/ night (2A, Pwd Site) it is good value. All sites are level and most sites are grassed with concrete slabs. Many sites are shaded. With the exception of the laundry, the amenities block is in good condition and very clean. Barbecues are available but the park could do with a covered barbecue area and camp kitchen. The staff go out of their way to make sure guests have a good stay. Kayaks and sand dune boards can be borrowed free of charge and should you be staying for a couple of weeks in June or July a free fishing trip can be arranged. The fire is lit in the rec shed every night, a BBQ is held most Saturday nights and weather permitting pancakes are cooked on Sunday morning. I wish we could have stayed longer, but I'm sure we'll be back.
