Date of Stay: August 2016 Rating: 4
John and Ann are the friendly and helpful managers here. Best amenities we have found in 8 years of caravaning. Large grassy sites will take any size RV with awning out and vehicle as well. Camp oven dinner $15, roast $15, soup and damper $10 on different nights. Managers hand round nibbles and pizza pieces every evening at happy hour around the camp fire. On 1700 acres of land, with tracks to drive a few kms through bush to Darling River. Peaceful, quiet except for bird life-beautiful. Recommend strongly. Cheaper fuel at BP than servo on main street. Two good cafes in town.

This small community is the only stopping point between Bourke and Tibooburra. Grassed area behind corner store and powered site was $25pn. The amenities are rustic but clean. Showers had hot water and good water pressure. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Nicoleche National Park was about 20km south.

Lovely caravan park now owned by young couple, Steph and Dan, who were very friendly and helpful. Dump point has now been installed. Afternoon tea of scones with jam and cream one day and hot dogs $3.50 each the next. Park has improved since our last stay there and more improvements planned. Would definitely stay there again.

Pleasant small caravan park and thankfully not affected by the heavy rain the day we arrived. Agree with previous comments, especially re the friendly and helpful staff. We didn't notice the road noise at all. We had two nights there @ $27 p/n and would be happy to stay there again.

Lovely park with sites to suit all size caravans-ours is 27' including draw bar. Concrete slabs, some drive through sites. Amenities clean with excellent water pressure. Some sites have lovely river views. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely area with lots to see and do. Would be well worth staying for a week or more.

Lovely, open, spacious caravan park, especially now that all permanent caravans have been removed. The amenities are older but very clean, with good sized shower cubicles and the water pressure was excellent. No complaints about this CP. Very close to main area of town with great OP shop across road. Stayed there on a Saturday night and it was very quiet and peaceful. Friendly office staff-Manager Chris was very helpful.

Large, lovely roomy caravan park between ocean and river. Good sized site, clean amenities with excellent water pressure/hot water, no midgies or mosquitoes, shops and cafes across road as well as local market on weekend. BBQ areas spotless. Check in easy with space for 2+ caravans near office and separate lane for other vehicles to pass and go through boom gate. Stayed for eight nights and will stay at this CP again.

Qld, Sunshine Coast, Gateway Lifestyle Maroochy - Maroochydore

Date of Stay: December 2015 Rating: 4
Stayed here two years ago and disappointed to find this time that the CP is being turned into an over 50's Lifestyle Village. Was told that it will be closed to caravans around Easter 2016. The houses are going up very quickly and the caravan section is correspondingly much smaller now. The amenities are just as good as ever and the lagoon pool is wonderful. Quite a few of the Big4's are turning into Gateway Lifestyle villages and we will miss this particular caravan park in the future.

Stayed here once again and so glad we did. Julie (manager) ever friendly and helpful. Large site, easy to access. Lovely camp kitchen with excellent facilities. Clean amenities as always. Noticed leak in pipe outside amenities, reported it to management and it was fixed the next day. Will return.

Stayed at this Big4 Resort for four nights. For 2 1/2 days of our stay, there was no hot water in either the male or female amenities-many people were not happy. This was the hardest site to reverse into that we have found in 7 years of caravaning. This was caused by a combination of narrow road, permanent rubbish bin surrounds and lamp posts. When booking our site, we stated the size of our caravan (27' overall) and again on arrival and were told our site would be OK to get into. We paid $43.20 per night after Big4 discount, for which price we expected at least to have hot water. Not quite what we expected from a Big4 caravan park and we will not stay there again.
