NSW, Culcairn, Culcairn Shire Council Caravan Park

Date of Stay: September 2019 Rating: 3
The manager was very friendly and helpful. This caravan park is on two levels; one just off the street and the other down by the creek. The park is situated between a highway and a railway that is still in use. We were woken during the night with semi-trailer noise and trains. The amenities whilst clean are a reasonable distance away.

$20 per night for power and water is a great price for this showground. There is, of course, plenty of room. There’s a lot of bins about. We didn’t use the amenities so cannot comment.

NSW, Albury, Lake Hume Tourist Park

Date of Stay: August 2019 Rating: 2
This park is on the side of a hill. There were other flat areas but we were given a site (68) which would be more suited to a 4WD RV (which we don’t have) it was difficult to get onto and difficult to get off. The amenities were a long way from this site and I cannot comment on them as we didn’t use them. The view was lovely over the lake. We paid $29.70 with the chain discount.

NSW, Durras, BIG4 South Durras Holiday Park

Nice park with grassy sites which are fairly level. The amenities were being updated when we were there so we had to use the “old block” which was basic and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There were a lot of BBQ’s with tables and chairs throughout the park. It’s best not to feed any wildlife as they then wait at your door!! We paid $29.70 for a powered site, this included the Big 4 discount.

NSW, Bungendore, Bungendore Showground

Staff very friendly and helpful offering sight seeing advice and maps. The amenities were basic but clean. All sites were level with plenty of room. There is quite a good camp kitchen. A site with power and water was $22 which we thought was great value.

NSW, Tathra, BIG4 Tarhra Beach Holiday Park

This is an excellent park with level grassy sites. The staff were friendly and happy to give tourist advice. The amenities were excellent, extremely clean and plenty of showers and toilets. One shower cubicle even had a bath in it. There was a morning tea put on by the park on a Wednesday morning unfortunately we arrived too late in the day to partake. Whilst I was disappointed at first that the park wasn’t on the beach, from the park that advertises beachfront sites, you can’t see the beach anyway because of dense coastal bush.

We have stayed here 3 times. The staff are very accommodating when finding a suitable spot to take our motorhome and tow car. The amenities are always very clean. $37 per person and with our Family Park discount we paid $33.30.

NSW, Tuross Head, Tuross Lakeside Tourist Park

We stayed here during July. It is a great location, a real waterfront position right on the lake. Amenities were dated but clean and functional. Laundry only had two dryers and one was out of order. Not a lot of clotheslines and one of the rules was no temporary clothesline so drying clothes was a bit of an issue. It was a quiet caravan park and whilst it's close to the main road most of the traffic noise ceased by 6pm. HOWEVER the Winter special, a powered site for two people $120 for 7 nights or $108 for 7 nights if you are a Family Parks member, was very hard to beat.

NSW, Gundagai, Gundagai River Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2019 Rating: 3.5
We have stayed at this park 4 times now. It's perfectly situated between Melbourne and Sydney for an overnight stop. A pleasant location by the river. The owner is lovely and very helpful. The amenities are well maintained and clean. $30 a night for a powered site for two people.

Well we said we'd be back and we are! We had another beautifully peaceful 3 day stay here. Fees are now $32 a night and I can't really add more to my previous report.
