SA, Murray Bridge, Murray Bridge Tourist Park

Date of Stay: January 2019 Rating: 4
Manager's name is Troy and Mishelle
Although the name has changed it it not a complete 'tourist park'. Owners appear to be making an effort to improve the 'tourist' part of the park, new road gutters, good gravel coverage for vans and cars, no slabs. Two large 'islands' of sites with new electrics and water connections and good lighting. Still a number of permanents around the perimeter of the park. 'Tourist' area is in the middle of the park near amenities and pool. Looks like effort made in installing new cabins. Don't let the look of the old reception building put you off, it needs some work. Close to the South Eastern Freeway for good access, however road noise is minimal due to parks good location.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $31.50 for 2A PN, powered. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, shade to some sites, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, good camp kitchen, dump point, book swap available, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Vodaphone, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. No playground. Clean pool, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park.
Liked:- The 'islands' of the caravan sites are great. More parks should follow this approach. No dust , no dead grass, no guilt of parking on grass, reduces water wastage. Some parts of the park have watered grass, but no vehicles on the grass. The electric/ water connection poles between sites are great, and illumination at night. no boom gate no PIN, but there is a key for the amenities.
Parking:- Entry and exit is either side of the reception building, but it is not marked like that, just common sense. Take care when arriving in case there is a vehicle already parked and checking in.
Added Touches:- Close to town, on the hill and it appears to be cooler than on the Murraylands flat land in January.
Road Conditions:- Good freeway access

Some sites on slopes, take care when unhitching the caravan as could be difficult to re-hitch due to incline of tow vehicle. Some sites need grading and landscaping to improve level especially sites closer to the Reception building. Camp Kitchen was upmarket and very good, enclosed and equipment well provided.
Average staff friendliness, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $34 for 2A PN, powered. Paid $25.50, reduced for stay for 4 pay for 3 and NRMA member. Liked:- Open space and 3 amenity blocks.
