Vic, Anglesea, BIG4 Anglesea Holiday Park

Date of Stay: April 2016 Rating: 4
This is a small park that does some things excellently, some very well, and some not at all. The things done excellently is the friendliness of the staff, the tidiness and cleanliness of the park even to daily sweeping up of the roo poo. Condition of the amenities and a beautiful indoor pool. However the things they fail in are the disabled toilets that are shut from 7 pm to 9 am, very few of the sites are level and some, are, quite small so if you have a big van and the park is full you could have a problem.
Very friendly staff, good staff response to complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Reasonable value for money $44 for 2A PN, powered, shoulder season. Paid $40, reduced for chain discount. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, separate bathroom, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate medium to large vans, very few annex slabs, shade to most sites, drive-through sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, kiosk, disabled facilities, dump point, book swap available, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 3. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, no permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. In good condition. Clean pool, heated, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided, spa available, toddlers catered for. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- it is a quiet park 1 km from the sea, the sstaff are vert helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
Disliked:- The size and unevenness of many of the sites, and the stupidity of having the disabled toilets in the swimming pool complex with no accessibility at night..
Local Information:- There is a lot to see and do as it is on the Great Ocean Road.
Road Conditions:- Many twists and turns.

NSW, Yass, Yass Caravan Park

Date of Stay: April 2015 Rating: 3
This is a Council park and obviously the management has changed since the last report as the managers were on site when we arrived, not only were they pleasant and friendly, they were working when we arrived and we were shown to our site. The site size was good and we had a drive through, where the slabs are situated is fairly flat but the drive on and off tend to be rough and sloping. The old amenity block is no longer used, but the 'new' one although not new any more it is clean and well maintained. The only faults were the water tends to go hot an cold when showering and the floor in the dry area tends to get wet.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff helped us at the site, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $28 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, no rec room, basic camp kitchen, late checkout allowed, disabled facilities, van parking, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 1. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanent/annual vans. Clean UC electric BBQs fuel costs 20c, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground, in average condition. No pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.

Vic, Marong, Big4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park

Date of Stay: August 2014 Rating: 4
Manager's name is Brett & Debbie
Brett & Debbie took over the park 18 months ago and have spent their time improving the facilities, gardens and installing new cabins and they have recently joined the Big4 Group. This is an extremely clean, well run park and Brett & Debbie are always willing to stop and have a chat. If you are going to explore the Bendigo region this is the ideal spot to do it from. One word of warning the park is very popular with caravan clubs/groups so it would be advisable to phone for a booking before you arrive. By the end of 2014 we will have stayed here 4 times.
Very friendly staff, no complaints, staff explained park layout and facilities. Good value for money $ 33 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Paid $29.70, reduced for Club discount. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is very good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, paper towels/dryer provided, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to some sites, shade to most sites, ensuite sites available, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Good laundry, good rec room, good camp kitchen, disabled facilities, dump point, secure entry, wireless internet is available, you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, adequate shade, a few permanents. Clean UC electric BBQs are free, congenial bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Excellent playground, in good condition. Clean pool, pool is shaded, kid-safe pool area, tables and chairs provided. Suitable for a week or more, suitable for families, well maintained park, park is considered kid-safe, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- Although the park has permanents they are completely separate from the tourist area.
Disliked:- Some of the sites tend to be short, so if the park is not full the owners will allow you to park over two sites, but if the park is full it could be claustrophobic.
Parking:- Outside reception
Local Information:- Being close to Bendigo there is to much to mention but suggest the tourist bureau in town.
Road Conditions:- Usual rural roads, bumpy

NSW, Barham, Barham Caravan And Tourist Park

Date of Stay: August 2014 Rating: 3.5
This park is beautifully situated on the bank of the Murray and suitable for a short stay to recharge your batteries or to while away some time. Although there are a large number of permanents they are well away from the tourist section and the whole park is extremely well kept, clean and tidy. In fact the grass was some of the best we have seen in a long time. Along the river bank the Council have had wooden carvings stationed at regular intervals, well worth a look. The town is within walking distance, and would definitely stay again.

NSW, Menindee, Menindee Lake Caravan Park

Date of Stay: August 2014 Rating: 2.5
We found this a very quiet and peaceful park. It was nice to have grass for a change but it was spoilt by the fact that the sites were uneven. The park has a brand new disabled amenity, but the general amenities, although clean, are in desperate need of updating.
Friendly staff, no complaints. Reasonable value for money $25 for 2A PN, powered, off-peak season. Paid $22.50, reduced for Pensioner. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is poor, water pressure is bad / Variable pressure experienced, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation, disabled facilities. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly unlevel sites, poor night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, poor water quality, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, disabled facilities, dump point, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, many permanents. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, park is considered kid-safe, park is considered suitable for mobility impaired persons.
Liked:- In spite of everything this is one of the few parks we have stayed in this year with grass.
Disliked:- No park info. The park may have a BBQ but didn't find it. The sites are all unlevel.
Parking:- Outside reception, but if the management aren't around just drive in, find a site and pay later.
Local Information:- Menindee Lakes complex and the Kinchega National Park
Road Conditions:- The road from Broken Hill was tar but quite bumpy.

NT, Aileron, Aileron Roadhouse Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 2
This could be a nice overnight stop with a little bit of TLC. The park was generally in need of a good clearing and clean up. The roads into and around needs to have gravel put down to keep the dust down.
Very friendly staff, no complaints. Reasonable value for money $28 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to all sites, were clean, condition is good, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, drive-through sites, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, kiosk, no wireless internet available., mobile wireless not available. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanents. No playground. No pool. Suitable for overnighter, suitable for families.
Parking:- Outside the roadhouse.
Road Conditions:- Bumpy.

NT, Mataranka, Territory Manor Motel And Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 2
We stayed here some years ago but unfortunately it has deteriorated since then. The individual ensuites no longer exist. The old ensuite amenity blocks are now open to everybody, this has enabled the management to greatly increase the number of caravan sites without having to increase the amount of amenity blocks. The area around the reception, restaurant and barrra feeding pond is kept clean and tidy and is watered daily, however the area around the caravan sites is dusty, has a large number of dead leaves and is generally scruffy. Like a lot of caravan parks in remote areas the park seems to be run by backpackers. We were extremely disappointed in this park and would find alternative parks next time. However, the Bitter Springs and Homestead Thermal waters are still fantastic and the homemade meat pies from the United Service Station are a must (one pie is big enough for two people).

NT, Alice Springs, Wanngardi Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 3
We stayed here in 2011 and nothing has changed and it is still a pleasant out of town park to stay for a week or two. The owners Michael and Andrea are very approachable and friendly. We had a little problem with the electricity as there were too many vans off the one circuit, but as soon as Michael was made aware of the problem it was sorted out. Would definitely stay again as it is good value for money (we paid $180 for 6 nights and got the 7th night free). A quiet and pleasant park.

NT, Kulgera, Kulgera Roadhouse Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 2
Yes the park can be dusty and there are flies but for an overnight stay this park is okay. The showers were clean and plenty of hot water. Surprisingly they also had a very clean disabled amenity something a lot of the bigger well known parks don't have. Would stay again.

NSW, Tibooburra, Granites Motel And Caravan Park

Date of Stay: July 2014 Rating: 2
You pay at the TJ's Service Station and then go to the park which is across the road and find a site. If you want power there is only this park in town, alternatively there are unpowered camp sites in the national park.
Average staff friendliness, no complaints. Reasonable value for money $24 for 2A PN, powered, peak season. Amenities are close to most sites, were clean, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, soap provided, dry change area, exhaust fans/good ventilation. Adequate number of tourist sites, mostly level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, no sites with annex slabs, very few sites are shaded, adequate taps close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 4. Quiet, open & roomy park, inadequate shade, no permanents. Clean UC gas BBQs are free, dismal bbq area atmosphere. No playground. No pool. Suitable for few days, suitable for families, park is considered kid-safe.
Liked:- Convenient if you want to drive to Cameron Corner for lunch and to explore the Sturt National Park
Disliked:- The park had no disabled facilities and we could not find one that worked in the whole town. At the service station they had a big sign advertising disabled facilities but when we went to use them we were told very unpleasantly that they were not working. The park had no dump point and we were instructed that we would have to empty our cassette at the refuge tip which was 3km out of town, when we got to the tip there was no proper dump point and you were expected to empty it into one of the many pits.
Parking:- At the service station
Road Conditions:- The road from Broken Hill is 70% tar but in places the gravel road is in very rough condition, corrugated and dusty.
