NSW, Lismore, Lismore Lake Caravan Park

Date of Stay: June 2014 Rating: 2
A trap for the novice is that the parks advertising does not state how many permanents are in house. This park is somewhat like a commune as the permanents far out number the tourists. The laundry and shower blocks were communal meeting places for the permanents making the tourist feel very much uneasy, thank goodness we had an en-suite.
Friendly staff, average staff response to complaints. Reasonable value for money $40 for 2A, ensuite, off-peak season. Amenities are close to all sites, were dirty, condition is reasonable, water pressure is good, there was adequate hot water, dry change area. Adequate number of tourist sites, some level sites, good night lighting, sites will accommodate large motorhomes and 5th wheelers, annex slabs to most sites, shade to some sites, ensuite sites available, drive-through sites, hard to negotiate into site, adequate taps close by, adequate sullage close by. Basic laundry, no rec room, no camp kitchen, no wireless internet available., you can use your mobile wireless carrier used was Telstra, reception quality was 5. Noisy, open & roomy park, adequate shade, many permanents. Dirty UC gas BBQs, dismal bbq area atmosphere, bbq area lighting, seating provided at bbq. Basic playground, in average condition. Suitable for few days.
Liked:- Value.
Disliked:- Out of control permanents, screaming, yelling domestics during the night. Appeared police were in attendance regularly patrolling the park.
Local Information:- We were in Lismore for their annual Lantern Parade, visiting from Victoria.
Road Conditions:- Very good.
